Math Masters Programs (12 Week Programs)

Picture
Multiplication Masters
This is a 12-week, once a week, program where students will focus on recalling their multiplication facts. With so much attention on learning the "why" of multiplication in school, the schools have forgotten the importance of rote memorization. This program will include the why, but it will also focus on speeding up fact recall or rote memorization.

Classes will consist of flashcard work, skip counting, commutative property, number bonds, grouping, arrays, and word problems, along with educational games and challenges.

Time permitting, students will then take their learned facts and apply them to the multiplication requirements for their current grade level.

Students will also receive additional practice work and resources.

Grades: This is suitable for all grades. For grades 1 and 2, we will focus on facts 0, 1, 2, 5, 10 for fact recall, but we will also use arrays and grouping to introduce other facts.

Class Length: Classes are 45 minutes for students up to and including Grade 4 and 1 hour starting at Grade 5.

Fee: $35 for 45 minutes and $45 for 1 hour (plus HST) x 12 Classes

Division Masters
This is a 12-week program where students will focus on recalling their division facts. This program will include the why, but it will also focus on speeding up fact recall or rote memorization.

Classes will consist of flashcard work, skip counting, commutative property, number bonds, grouping, and arrays along with educational games and challenges.

Time permitting, students will then take their learned facts and apply them to the division requirements for their current grade level.

Students will also receive additional practice work and resources.

Note: If a student is progressing at a very fast pace, then we will combine multiplication with division facts in order to ensure that students get the most out of their tutoring sessions.

Grades: This is suitable for all grades.

Fee: $35 for 45 minutes and $45 for 1 hour (plus HST) x 12 Classes
